- Banker's draft - the payment of funds guaranteed by a bank. A banker's draft is more secure than a personal cheque.
- Boundaries - these are the limits of the property or the land surrounding it.
- Bridging loan - a loan enabling a buyer to complete the purchase of another house before receiving the money from the sale of the currently owned one.
- Building Blocks - these are hollow or solid blocks of clay, gypsum or concrete. Because they are larger, building blocks are cheaper and quicker to lay than bricks.
- Bungalow - a type of house which has no upper floors. If there are upper rooms they are contained within the roof and lighted by dormer windows or skylights.
- Buttress - a support which is joined at right angles to a wall to strengthen it.
- Buy-to-let mortgage - a special mortgage designed to encourage investors to buy houses to lease to tenants.
